Blackhead Pimple

A blackhead is a type of pimple that forms when a hair follicle or pore becomes clogged with excess oil (sebum), dead skin cells, and other debris. The difference between a blackhead and other types of pimples, like whiteheads, is that the pore remains open, allowing the contents to oxidize and turn black, which gives the blackhead its characteristic dark appearance. Blackheads are most commonly found on the nose, chin, and forehead but can appear anywhere on the body. While many people are tempted to extract them, improper removal can lead to irritation, infection, or scarring. Regular exfoliation, cleansing, and non-comedogenic products can help prevent blackheads. For stubborn cases, treatments like salicylic acid, retinoids, or professional extractions are recommended.
