Fever: A fever of 100°F (38°C) or higher is a sign of an ear infection

Balance issues: Vertigo or difficulty with balance can occur

Nausea and vomiting: These symptoms can be caused by an ear infection

Skin changes: Dry, flaky, or scaly skin in or around the ear can be a sign of an ear infection
