Tony McFarr, renowned Hollywood stunt double for Chris Pratt, tragically passed away in May. While the cause of his death has been revealed, his loss continues to deeply sadden the tight-knit Hollywood stunt community.
According to documents obtained by TMZ from the Orange County Medical Examiner in Florida, McFarr’s cause of death was an irregular heartbeat due to an issue with his heart valves. This heart issue was likely exacerbated by his heavy drinking, leading to acute alcohol poisoning. The medical examiner’s report also identified alcohol poisoning and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) as contributing factors.
COPD is a chronic lung disease that causes breathing difficulties, coughing, mucus production, and wheezing. It is often a result of long-term exposure to harmful substances like cigarette smoke. Individuals with COPD are at a higher risk of developing heart disease, lung cancer, and other conditions.
McFarr’s autopsy report revealed a history of binge alcohol abuse, with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .29 at the time of examination. This is well above the legal driving limit and can lead to coma or death.
