Penne with Italian Sausage

Ingredients:
400 g penne pasta
200 g skinless Italian sausage
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 can (400 g) diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped fresh basil (for garnish)
Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

1. Bring it. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook penne al dente according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes.

3. Add onions and garlic to the pot and saute until onions are translucent, about 3 minutes.
4. Add the diced peppers, stir and cook for another 2 minutes.
5. Add the diced tomatoes, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly.
6. Mix the boiled penne with the sausage sauce. Serve with fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
