President Donald Trump\u2019s dream of buying Greenland has been given a boost after legislation has been drawn up and brought to Congress.


<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trump administration\u2019s expansionist agenda has been on full display since the Republicans reclaimed the Oval Office less than month ago (January 20).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 78-year-old has officially renamed the Gulf of Mexico the \u2018Gulf of America\u2019, revealed plans to reclaim the Panama Canal, urged Canada to be the 51st state of America, and has shown intent to \u2018take over\u2019 Gaza displacing all Palestinians<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re already aware of his aspiration to purchase Greenland, even having a fiery phone call with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen \u2013 which reportedly sent officials into crisis mode.


<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, Greenland has been part of the Danish Kingdom since it was colonized back in the 18th century \u2013 and was seen as only a colony until 1953 when it was redefined as a district of Denmark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, what\u2019s the latest update then?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, it has come through Republican Congressman Buddy Carter, a representative of Georgia, who introduced legislation last week to allow Trump to speak with Greenland and Denmark about the possibility of acquiring the autonomous country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carter released the following statement: \u201cAmerica is back and will soon be bigger than ever with the addition of Red, White, and Blueland.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, Trump plans on renaming Greenland \u2018Red, White and Blueland\u2019\u2026 I\u2019m not sure how its natives would feel about the name change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He continued: \u201cPresident Trump has correctly identified the purchase of what is now Greenland as a national security priority, and we will proudly welcome its people to join the freest nation to ever exist when our Negotiator-in-Chief inks this monumental deal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bill introduced by Carter has been referred to the committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo authorize the President to enter into negotiations to acquire Greenland and to rename Greenland as \u2018Red, White, and Blueland,’\u201d it read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump has previously stated that those who call the world\u2019s largest island home, its 57,000 residents, wish to be part of the US.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to reporters last month, he doubled down with some blunt remarks: \u201cI think we\u2019re going to have it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI think the people want to be with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t really know what claim Denmark has to it, but it would be a very unfriendly act if they didn\u2019t allow that to happen because it\u2019s for the protection of the free world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He continued: \u201cI think Greenland we\u2019ll get because it has to do with freedom of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
