He\u2019s a tall guy and he wears big shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, instead of tripping over them, I picked them up and placed them into our closet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I didn\u2019t grumble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I didn\u2019t get mad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I didn\u2019t even say a word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I know you might be thinking\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cReally, Leslie? He\u2019s a 40-year-old man, he can pick up his own dang shoes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And you\u2019re right. He can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But I\u2019m a 40-year-old woman and I can clean the trash out of my car and change the oil and I know I\u2019m capable of helping my kids with their homework, but sometimes\u2014I don\u2019t do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But my husband does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, there\u2019s a lot of things I don\u2019t do that he does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And there\u2019s a lot of things I do, that he doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ve learned after nearly 18 years of marriage, there\u2019s just no reason to keep score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We let go of the little things and work together on the big ones. We\u2019re just two imperfect humans who love each other a lot and decided many years ago to be on the same team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And to pick up the slack (and the shoes) when necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let\u2019s Spread the Kindness<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cI saw them last night\u2014they are hard to miss.
