{"id":1307,"date":"2024-04-29T21:10:14","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T21:10:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onlinenews92.com\/?p=1307"},"modified":"2024-04-29T21:10:15","modified_gmt":"2024-04-29T21:10:15","slug":"homeowner-finds-secret-door-in-his-new-apartment-what-he-discovers-is-hauntingly-awesome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onlinenews92.com\/?p=1307","title":{"rendered":"Homeowner finds secret door in his new apartment \u2013 what he discovers is hauntingly awesome"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.viral-stories.online\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/AFT-159.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We spend much of our&nbsp;childhood&nbsp;excitedly entertaining the products of our imagination.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I mean, I can\u2019t tell you how many times I imagined myself in a fantasy world while walking through the woods close by my home, or I pretended to have found a magical door, hidden from others, and could make up where it led.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The transition to adulthood tends to rob us of the more fantastical elements of our wandering consciousness, but that\u2019s not to say exciting, curious things aren\u2019t waiting to be found in the world around us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just ask the man who&nbsp;bought a new place&nbsp;in the UK 11 years ago, only to find a hidden trapdoor in the floor that led to a room he hadn\u2019t even known about\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say that the prospect of finding a hidden door or space in a property we\u2019ve just purchased is rather intriguing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sadly, more often than not, we get what we\u2019ve paid for, and there are little, if any surprises to be had come moving day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that\u2019s not to say they don\u2019t happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One new homeowner got a real shock when he was handed the keys to his new home, only to find a trapdoor leading to a secret, underground man cave!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2023\/10\/25081247\/desktop-1406690654.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-139167\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The home in question was originally used as part of an English monastery from the 19th century. The property and its grounds were later converted into 30 modern apartments, one of which was purchased by the man in this story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apparently he got a good price for the apartment, as well as the bonus of a hidden room he hadn\u2019t even know existed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2023\/10\/25081300\/desktop-1406690658.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-139168\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In front of the bathroom door, he found a handle on the floor leading to another area beneath the floorboards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At first glance, the door looks like it leads simply to a small storage area.
